An important review meeting of the high officials of Chandigarh Administration was held on Saturday regarding the issues related to Corona. In this apart from the officers of administration, medical officers of GMCH-32, Directorate of Health Services and PGI were involved. During this it was told that a Kovid Health Control Room has been set up in GMSH 16. It will be operational 24 hours a day and will have doctors, interns and support staff.
At the same time, the entire health department of the administration will have only one helpline number 1075 regarding issues related to Corona. On this number, the residents of the city can call on issues related to corona such as vaccination, medical oxygen, home isolation and other issues.
Patients living in home isolation need attention
During the meeting, while sharing the information of 98 percent home isolation patients, the need for special attention towards their care was discussed. Apart from this, the initiative of the administration to give information about the proper use of medical oxygen in private hospitals and ways to prevent its wastage was also told. There is no issue related to the availability of medical oxygen. In such a situation, there is no need to fix quota for private hospitals.

It was decided in the meeting that the decision regarding the admission of Kovid patient to the hospital would be taken only on the basis of health reasons given by the doctor concerned. The patient should not be admitted to the hospital only for isolation etc. The services of the departments whose personnel have been given work from home should be taken to run the control rooms in Sector 32 and Sector 16 hospitals for 24 hours.
Action on violation of the fixed rate of testing
Apart from this, it was decided in the meeting that DHS has been asked to ensure that private hospitals and labs display the rate list fixed by the administration regarding Kovid testing. In case of any complaint, appropriate action will be taken against the concerned institution. Apart from this, discussions were held regarding the capacity and running of ambulances and in case of shortage of these, the Red Cross was asked to make a demand.
