Jagran Correspondent, Ballia: After providing the quality of education and basic facilities in the council schools, the state of cleanliness in the schools is also being tested by the government. In this, the schools which will get five star marks in the rating of cleanliness will be awarded with state level awards. Till 31st March, the date of claim for the schools was fixed. In this sequence, out of 2249 council schools, the principals of 1990 have proposed their own schools for this honor. After the data of the schools has been sent by the Basic Education Department, the proposed school is being evaluated from the government level. The evaluation period ends today, May 15. After that the cleanliness rating of district wise schools will be clear.


90 to 100 marks required for five star rating

District Coordinator (Construction) of Basic Education Department Satyendra Rai said that for five star rating, it is necessary for the concerned school to get 90 to 100 marks. It is mandatory for other schools to get a minimum of three stars in each category. The proposal was sent to the government after evaluation by the department. The evaluation work from the government level is also being completed on May 15. Under Operation Kayakalp in 2249 council schools of the district, 19 types of facilities including tiles, taps, toilets, electricity etc. have been provided in 76.96 percent of the schools on 19 parameters. Similarly, facilities have been made available in 81.82 percent schools on 14 parameters. Smart classes are also run in 40 schools. It is expected that more schools in the district will be entitled to this award.
