New Delhi, Auto Desk. 2021 Audi Q5 Launched: German automaker Audi has launched its Q5 facelift SUV in the Indian market. Equipped with very attractive styling and powerful features, the starting price of this car has been fixed at Rs 58.93 lakh ex-showroom. Let us tell you, Audi had pulled this SUV out of the Indian markets two years ago due to stringent BS6 emission norms.
As of now, Audi has confirmed that over 100 units of the car have already been booked, and deliveries are expected to start soon. With the new Q5, Audi now has three SUVs in the Q family, including the Q2 and Q8 in addition to the performance version RS Q8. This is Audi’s ninth model in this financial year after the carmaker launched five electric vehicles.
The 2021 Audi Q5 is available in two variants, the Performance Plus trim and the Hi-Spec Technology trim. Audi expects the new Q5 to boost sales of ICE cars in India as it gears up to take on rivals like the BMW X3, Mercedes GLC or even the recently launched Volvo XC60. One of the major changes in the new Q5 facelift SUV is under the hood.
The German auto giant has decided to skip the diesel engine, and is now offered with only a petrol unit to power the SUV. It is mated to a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which can generate power of 249 bhp and peak torque of 370 Nm. Another significant change in the Audi Q5 is the new 10.1-inch touchscreen with the third generation modular infotainment platform or MIB 3. It offers haptic feedback, and Audi’s latest MMI touch, supports voice control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
