New Delhi, Auto Desk. The new Mahindra Scorpio can be launched in the last week of June, possibly on May 27, 2022. The company has asked its officers to be ready from June 27 to June 29. Also, a message reads “BLOCK YOUR DATE” and has indicated that the new Scorpio may be introduced at this time. While, according to media reports, the upcoming model will be a diesel spec, with great styling, better features and more. Several updates may be received including a bigger cabin.

As a feature, the Mahindra Scorpio will be brought with a double-barrel headlight which may come with a slight chrome beltline rising from the C-pillar. Apart from this, it gets a new slate grille with C-shaped LED DRLs and fog lamps and many more.

The car is going to get a new large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, sunroof and many such luxury features. At the same time, the driver display is digital and steering mounted controls have also been seen. The new Scorpio is bigger than the current model with a longer wheelbase, which means it will take up more space. The vehicle will be based on the maker’s new ladder-on-frame platform and could also get a four-wheel drive option.

The engine of the Scorpio is shared with the Thar and the XUV700. This includes a 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. At the same time, the power and torque output is also the same as that of the Thar. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. On the other hand, in terms of safety features, the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio can get many other modern features like 6 airbags, reverse camera, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control and rear disc brake.

Once launched, the new Mahindra Scorpio will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Tata Harrier in India.
