70 km of roads damaged due to rain: 64 km repair completed, Rs 5.27 crore spent in 92% repair work

State Roads and Housing Minister Purnesh Modi had said on Monday that 90 per cent of the repair work on the roads that were riddled with rain has been completed. He had issued the number for online complaint for repair of bad routes. Complaints started pouring in as soon as the number was released. In this, 1436 complaints were received by the Municipal Corporation in Surat city.

Out of these complaints, 1186 complaints have been disposed of, while 250 complaints are now pending. According to the Municipal Corporation, 70.35 km of roads in the city were damaged due to rain. Out of this, repair work of 64.85 km has been completed. Rs 5.27 crore was spent for this 92 per cent repair work.

The work of the remaining 5.5 km is also fast

11 asphalt plants have been kept operational in all the zones of the city. These plants have been kept operational for speedy repair of roads in the city.
