Welcoming the decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that in the challenging global situation, the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given great relief to the people. In view of the impact on common life due to the ever-increasing prices of fuel products, the government on Saturday announced reduction of excise duty on petrol and diesel by up to Rs.8 and Rs.6 per liter respectively.

Along with this, the government also announced a subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder on LPG cylinder. This subsidy will be given on 12 gas cylinders in a year to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Amit Shah tweeted, “Even in this challenging global situation, the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a huge relief to the general public by reducing excise duty on petrol and diesel and giving a subsidy of Rs 200 on gas cylinders. For other sectors also, many such steps have been taken, which will reduce the price of the products.

The Home Minister said that Modi ji is a sensitive leader who cares about every section of the country. In another tweet, the Home Minister said, “Modi ji is a sensitive leader who cares for every section of the country. Therefore, for the last eight years, the concern of the interests of the poor, farmers and general public of the country has always been at the center of the decisions of the Modi government. I express my gratitude to Modi ji and Nirmala Sitharaman ji for this public-friendly decision.
