A marathon race was organized from Indira Stadium to Police Line Ground Jhaleda on International Olympic Day in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. Rural Development Minister and State Olympic Association President Virendra Kanwar flagged off the race as the chief guest. In which Lalsingi athlete Abhishek was the winner. Along with the players, a large number of students also participated in the marathon. State Finance Commission Chairman Satpal Satti was also present as a special guest.
During this, Rural Development Minister Kanwar said that the purpose of running this marathon is to create awareness among people about sports and health. The playground teaches us discipline. Which is very important for success in life. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur is making efforts to strengthen the sports infrastructure in Himachal. In this direction, an astroturf ground has been announced at Nahan.
Said that the government under the leadership of CM Jai Ram Thakur is encouraging sports and sportspersons. The government has made a new sports policy. Which will encourage sports. In the new policy, the diet money of the players has been increased. The prize money has been increased for winning medals. The quota of players in government jobs has been increased to 3%. 82 players from Himachal performed better in Khelo India. This is a good sign for the state.
