Dr. Nagendra Prasad Singh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Indian Education Policy as a revolutionary step in the education sector during the Amrit Mahotsav and in the same episode, an important step was given to the Indian Board of Education to operate. At the same time, Swami Ramdev has been raising this point prominently on every platform for a decade that the nation will be completely independent and empowered at the global level only when our education system is indigenous.

What he meant by Swadeshi was that our education system should emerge from the womb of an eternal shared culture. His argument was that unless we incorporate the resolves of our great men in our education system, our education system would basically be a copy of the western education system propounded by Macaulay. Without ancient knowledge tradition, education dependent only on western culture removes the younger generation from the roots of the nation.

Constitution of the Indian Board of Education

It was also felt by the Government of India that when we teach the country’s knowledge tradition separately and it is not included with new research, then that education system also remains incomplete. Also, it does not attract parents and students. A feeling comes in their mind that merely by reading the ancient tradition, we will not be aware of the life skills required for the present challenges. Therefore, after extensive contemplation, it was realized that the only solution to this could be integrated education with ancient knowledge tradition and new research. For this an ‘Expression of Interest’ was issued through an autonomous body of the Ministry of Education (formerly Human Resource and Development) Government of India, through which a ‘Sponsoring Body’ was to be selected, which was to be registered by the Education Board of India Society. Indian Education Board will be constituted.

According to the new education policy 2020

Syllabus and syllabi prepared by the Board of Education of India and presented to the Government of India were tested by NCERT and CBSE. Based on that it was certified that the curriculum is in line with the NCF (National Curriculum Framework) and the spirit of the New Education Policy 2020. In order to run the board legally, it is necessary that it should be legally valid at par with all the central boards of the country and all the boards of the state governments. This is necessary so that the students who have studied through the Indian Board of Education can get admission in schools recognized by other boards, as well as qualify for admission in the academic session of universities, jobs in Government of India and State Governments. To give validity to the evaluation certificate of the Indian Board of Education. For this, the Government of India has authorized AIU (Association of Indian Universities) with certain instructions for standardization and mutual equivalence of all boards.

tendency to consider western civilization as better

As far as Macaulay’s education system is concerned, the purpose of formulating it was to prepare such youth for the East India Company and the British state who could be available for bureaucracy and their army. For this, he implemented such an education system, so that the inferiority complex of the Indian culture is absorbed in the youth of India and they start to understand that western philosophy is many times better than our Indian culture. In this way the sense of self-pride was attacked and the tendency to consider western civilization to be better was developed. Behind this was the feeling that societies and nations which began to consider their cultural heritage inferior, it would be convenient to maintain it as a colony. Through this an attempt was made to create a rift between Sanatan, Buddhist, Jain and Sikh. It was the thinking of Macaulay and his associates that even if India ever becomes politically independent, it cannot be a culturally united India. On the basis of this teaching method, many illustrations and their effects appear to be a hindrance to integrity.

The Indian Board of Education is a powerful tool for its treatment. Our textbooks, our pedagogy, non-teaching activities and evaluation methodology will be in such a way that every student will develop with the concept of Akhand Bharat. He should also be well versed in modern science, capable of providing leadership on a global scale, but his navel should be infused with the cultural spirit of India. He should have the right knowledge of the cultural unity of India and if there is a distortion in his behavior due to the basic principle of culture, then he should also have the ability to refine it.
