On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Manoj Kumar, a special drive to remove encroachment from the busy roads and markets of the city started from Wednesday. Under this, encroachment will be removed from the busy and main roads of the city and fine will be imposed on the shopkeepers who encroach.
Under the leadership of DMC Dheeraj Kumar, the sanitation team cut challans of encroachers by visiting GT Road, Fusgarh Road, Green Belt and Market and Dividing Road area of Sector-6 and 7. Along with this, an appeal was also made to them that they should keep their belongings in the limit, do not allow them to come on the road, due to which the traffic is blocked. Eight challans were issued by the team on the spot and the fine amount was recovered. If the Municipal Commissioner is to be believed, then this campaign will go on for the next one month.
This step has been taken in view of the festive season. In this season, the city roads and all the main markets are crowded with vehicles and customers, blocking the traffic and causing jams. Let us tell you that this situation can be seen daily in the city, in view of this, a special campaign to remove encroachment has been started. He has also appealed to the people coming to the market to park their vehicles in the parking lot instead of parked on the road. He said that those who park their vehicles on the road, their vehicles would be seized and challaned with the help of tow-vans.
Dhiraj Kumar, the nodal and DMC of the campaign said that in the removal of encroachment campaign, action will be taken to remove encroachment in different parts of the city by making a daily schedule. During this time, people are also being made aware about not encroaching on municipal vehicles. He appealed to the residents to help the corporation in keeping the city clean even in the festive season, do not throw the waste polythene or stuff here and there, but put it in the dustbin itself.
