New Delhi, ANI. After 12 of the 17 Congress MLAs in Meghalaya joined the Trinamool Congress, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday challenged the TMC to show them first by making them contest on party tickets. On Wednesday, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed that 12 Congress MLAs from Meghalaya have joined their party.

Chowdhury said, “This conspiracy to break the Congress is happening not only in Meghalaya but in the entire Northeast. I challenge TMC to get Congress MLAs to resign from the post of MLA and show them by contesting elections on TMC ticket. Even though he has joined TMC, he is still a Congress MLA and Congress voters have voted for him. If they win on TMC ticket, we will recognize your potential.

He said that I challenge Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to first show the MLAs by making them fight on TMC’s symbol and then formally welcome them to her party.

He also alleged that the TMC wants to divide the Congress and help Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. He said, ‘If she (Mamata Banerjee) meets Sonia Gandhi now, then PM Modi will be angry. His actions changed soon after his nephew was summoned by the ED. Earlier, he had written a letter to Sonia Gandhi asking her to fight together against the BJP.

Chaudhary further said on Congress MLAs turning to TMC, ‘All this is being done by Prashant Kishor and TMC leader Luizinho Faleiro. We knew about it.
