New Delhi, Agencies. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting on the issue of Kovid-19. Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday that after the review meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation of Kovid-19, we have revised our discharge policy with mild and moderate cases of Kovid.
Lav Agarwal Joint Secretary Health Ministry said that patients with mild cases will be discharged in at least seven days. In such cases, no COVID-19 test is required before discharge. In moderate cases, if the symptoms start to subside with treatment and the patient finds himself cured without medical oxygen for three consecutive days, then such patients will be discharged.
Luv Aggarwal said that more than 153 crore doses of anti-covid vaccine have been given in the country so far. 86.62 crore people have been given the first dose, 64.19 crore people have been given both doses and 18.86 lakh people have been given pre-dose.
Luv Aggarwal said that a large number of cases of Kovid-19 are being reported all over the world. Cases are increasing in 159 countries. Eight countries in Europe have registered a more than two-fold increase in the past two weeks. The number of active cases in the country is close to 9,55,319. Last week, an average of 25,13,144 cases have been reported daily across the world.
Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health also told that the positivity rate in the country was 1.1 percent on December 30, which has increased to 11.05 percent. The figures of corona coming from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Gujarat are a matter of concern. As far as Omicron is concerned, this variant has caused one more death in the country. Worldwide, 115 people have officially died from this variant.
Luv Aggarwal said that according to the World Health Organization, Omicron is currently looking to replace the Delta variant to a great extent. Data from South Africa, UK, Canada, Denmark indicate a lower risk of hospitalization for Omicron patients compared to Delta. In the situation of rapidly increasing infection, it is being seen that if those who do not get the anti-covid vaccine, the stage of hospitalization is more. The number of active cases in the country is around 9,55,319. On an average 1.5 lakh cases are being reported daily.
