Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said on Wednesday that the people of Bundelkhand will cast so many votes against the Bharatiya Janata Party that their votes will be bulldozed. Yadav, who came out on a ‘Samajwadi Vijay Rath’, was addressing the public in Hamirpur for the second day on Tuesday. He said the government had promised to double the income of farmers “but the income has not doubled, inflation has definitely doubled.”
Hitting out at Yogi Adityanath, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said, “Our baba chief minister likes two things – a bull and a bulldozer. This time the people of Bundelkhand have decided that they will keep the staring of the bulldozer in their hands and will cast so many votes against the BJP that the bulldozer will run on their votes.
Akhilesh is understood to have addressed the bull here for the stray animals which are causing damage to farmers’ crops. By bulldozer he meant the state government running a bulldozer on illegal property.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday launched the ‘Samajwadi Vijay Yatra’ from Kanpur with the intention of reaching out to the people and garnering their support ahead of the assembly elections due early next year. On the second day of his journey, he reached Hamirpur via Kanpur countryside. The yatra started with a special bus, which the party has named as Vijay Rath. The journey which started from Kanpur will go to Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun and Hamirpur districts in the first two days (October 12-13) under the first phase.
