Meanwhile, news is coming that Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is unhappy with his party colleague Swami Prasad Maurya over his remarks on Ramcharitmanas. According to sources, Akhilesh Yadav is very angry with Maurya and a press conference can also be held on this issue from the party’s side.
Apart from Akhilesh Yadav, many MLAs of the party are also keeping themselves away from Maurya’s statement. According to sources, many MLAs have spoken to Akhilesh Yadav over the phone. There is a lot of dissatisfaction in the party regarding the controversial statement of SP MLC. Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya on Sunday courted a major controversy after he demanded removal of “derogatory comments and sarcasm” targeted at particular castes and communities in the Ramcharitmanas based on the epic Ramayana.
Speaking to ANI, the SP leader said, “I have no problem with Ramcharitmanas, but some parts of it contain derogatory comments and sarcasm on particular castes and sects and they should be removed.” He further claimed That Ramcharitmanas composed by Tulsidas contains words that hurt the sentiments of the Dalit community. The Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the Samajwadi Party over Maurya’s statement.
UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chowdhary said, ‘People like Swami Prasad Maurya are deranged. Akhilesh Yadav should clarify whether this is his party’s view or Swami Prasad’s personal view. Senior Samajwadi Party leader and party MLA Ravidas Malhotra said that the statement of Swami Prasad Maurya is his personal opinion and not the statement of the party. Talking to ANI, Ravidas Mehrotra said that his statement has reached the party’s National President Akhilesh Yadav and action will be taken against such statements in the coming days.
