Allegation of demanding money for home isolation: Uproar in PG block of Kovid patients, police reached the hospital on information, pacified the patients, investigation started

Patients admitted to PG Block Kovid Care Center of SNMMCH created a ruckus on Tuesday, accusing them of demanding money for providing home isolation facilities. Patients alleged that home quarantine facilities are being provided to some people by taking money.

An employee of the cathlab and an employee working in the circuit house covid war room are in connivance taking money in the name of home isolation. Home isolation facility is being given to the infected patients who are paying money. Patients who are not paying money are being asked to stay in the hospital.

A patient admitted said that many patients were sent to home isolation after taking two thousand rupees. On reaching the hospital, the guard present there offers to set up the patients. The relatives of the patients have also complained about this to the district administration and senior officials of the health department. Here, after the allegation, the departmental officers are busy investigating the matter.

Patients also accused of bad food and not getting medicine on time
Infected patients said that the food given in the hospital is very bad. Patients have been complaining about it for two days but there is no improvement in the food. Medicines are also not available on time. When patients talk to the staff here for medicine, they are thrown at each other. Doctors in PG block are also not coming to see them on time. Patients have been released only after being admitted.

Home guard jawans doing duty without security kit
The Home Guard jawans, who were on duty at the Kovid Center, also expressed their inability to do duty, saying that they were being made to do duty outside the Kovid Hospital without any security arrangements. The facility is not being provided under the protocol.

Will inform senior officers on receipt of complaint
