DM Shivakant Dwivedi instructed that every house tricolor program will be celebrated from 11 to 17 August under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Every effort should be made to make this program a success and ensure its success.

Flags should be made according to standard

The DM said that the purpose of this program is to inculcate respect for the symbols of freedom by inculcating the feeling of patriotism in the mind of every citizen. He directed the District Panchayati Raj Officer to constitute a committee at the district, tehsil, block and gram panchayat level at the earliest.

He directed all the concerned officers that the tricolor flags should be made according to the standard, so that there should be no error in it. He has also instructed the Block Development Officers to identify machines for making flags at the block level.

The DM said that every citizen has to hoist and install the flag with respect in his residence, school and government offices, following the flag code. He said that while hoisting the flag, the saffron-coloured strip should always be on the top side of the flag. He said that if the flag is hoisted in the government premises, the flag should be hoisted after sunrise and should be lowered with respect to sunset.

He said that the flags to be erected on private houses and establishments from 11th to 17th August 2022 should be taken off and kept safe after the said period with respect. He said that after taking down the flag, it should not be thrown by any citizen. He said that the flag should be kept folded with respect. He told that only in special circumstances the flag can be hoisted at night.
