19 New Districts in Rajasthan : The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the state budget for the financial year 2023-24 by voice vote. Along with this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced creation of 19 new districts and three new divisions in the state. He proposed a budget of Rs 2,000 crore for infrastructure, human resources in the first phase for immediate implementation.
Responding to the discussion on the Finance Appropriation Bill (Budget) on Friday, Gehlot said that it is the commitment of the state government to provide effective, transparent and sensitive administration. The state government has implemented various public welfare schemes and in such a situation, these schemes reach every village and dhani, for this there is a need to work with full sensitivity at the district level.
He said that Rajasthan is the largest state of the country geographically and the distance of some places from the district headquarters is more than 100 kms, so people have to face problems. Gehlot said, “Effective administration, management and control over law and order becomes easier with smaller districts. Various states of the country have been ahead in creating new districts and recently West Bengal has created seven new districts. Therefore, there was a demand to create new districts within the state.” He said that demands for creating new districts have been received from many places in the state and the government had constituted a high-level committee to study these proposals in detail, whose interim report has been received. After a detailed study and discussion of all the proposals received in this regard, the structure of the present administrative units of the state has been announced to create 19 new districts in the state.
Chief Minister Gehlot announced the formation of new districts of Anupgarh, Balotra, Beawar, Deeg Didwana, Kuchaman City, Dudu, Gangapur City, Jaipur North, Jaipur South, Jodhpur West, Kekdi, Kotputli, Khairthal, Neemkathana, Phalodi, Salumbar, Sanchore, Shahpura-Bhilwara. Did. He said that after 19 new districts, there will be total 50 districts in the state. All of these are in contact with the state headquarters through the divisional headquarters, so with a view to strengthen this arrangement, it has been announced to create three new divisions in the state, Banswara, Pali, and Sikar.
He said that an expenditure of Rs 2,000 crore is proposed in the first phase to provide strong infrastructure and human resources for setting up these new district and divisional units without delay. He announced a 10 percent increase in the pension of state pensioners above the age of 75 years. He said, “Pensioners above 80 years of age in the state get the benefit of increase in pension amount. Keeping in view the additional financial security as the age increases, the government has announced an additional allowance of 10 percent on the basic in the pension amount for pensioners above 75 years of age.
Gehlot announced the construction of a corridor in Jaipur’s Govinddev ji temple on the lines of Ujjain’s Mahakal and made a provision of Rs 100 crore for this work. He announced preparation of DPR for the development of famous temples like Pushkar, Tripura Sundari, Sanvaliyaji, Salasar, Hanuman Mandir of Khole, Tanot Mata, Shrinathji, Kaila Devi Veer Tejaji, Eklingji. And Anita Bhadel has been declared the best MLA of the year 2023. These MLAs will be honored on March 20.
