Lakhimpur Kheri (UP):

At least four people were killed and five others were seriously injured when a speeding truck crushed people standing on the roadside on the Kheri-Bahraich highway near Pangi village of the city’s Kotwali area on Saturday evening.

The people killed in the accident have not been identified yet. Expressing grief over the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured. Kheri Superintendent of Police Ganesh Prasad Saha along with other police officers reached the spot and supervised the rescue operations.

The Superintendent of Police told reporters that four to five people died in the accident and five others were reported injured. He said that the injured were taken to the district hospital for treatment. Saha said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
