22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who have won one title more than him, have got different halves of the Australian Open draw, with their face-off now possible directly in the final.
Nine-time champion Djokovic could not play the Australian Open last time due to not getting the Corona vaccine. His visa was canceled on his arrival here and he was sent back.
Fourth seed Djokovic will face Spain’s Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round on Monday. World number one Iga Swiatek will play Germany’s Julie Niemeyer. Poland’s Swiatej reached the semi-finals here in 2022.
Nadal has to play Britain’s Jack Draper in the first match, who reached the semi-finals in Adelaide International. Five-time runner-up Andy Murray will face Italy’s Matteo Berretini, a former Wimbledon runner-up.
Murray had defeated Australia’s Alex de Minaur in a practice match on Thursday.
Ons Jabour will face Tamara Zidansek in the first round. And third-ranked Jessica Pegula will be up against Jacqueline Christian of Romania. Seventh seed Coco Gou will face Kateryna Siniakova
