The Institute of Management, located in the DAV College campus, Sector-10, will no longer be admitted to the MBA course. In a letter issued by Panjab University Deputy Registrar (Colleges), DAV has issued strict instructions to the governing body not to enroll in the Institute of Management in the first year MBA for the session 2022-23. PU said that the Affiliation Committee has not yet given a report regarding the recognition of the course. In such a situation, MBA in the institute cannot be admitted in the first year. Controversy has been going on since the beginning regarding MBA course in the Institute of Management running in DAV College. In 2017 the Institute of Management was started inside the DAV College Campus. The Inspection Committee was sent several times by PU regarding the recognition of the institute, but the committee gave a negative report every time, after which there is a constant controversy over this course. ignoring the rules

The Institute of Management running in the DAV College Campus offers admission to 60 MBA seats. Under PU rules, admission to MBA course can be done only on the basis of CAT score. But the institute admitted the students without CAT exam. Students who get admission against the rules will not be given a degree by PU. On the other hand, the appointment of Principal and three Faculty for the Institute could not be approved by PU. There is no separate campus for the institute. At present, the entire infrastructure of DAV College is being used. On 19 January 2022, the report sent by DAV Management regarding the Institute of Management was rejected by PU. After which the PU administration has banned admission in MBA course.
