Maheshwaram (Telangana) :

As the next year’s elections in Telangana draw closer, the Congress, BJP and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) targeting each other has intensified. In the latest attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a jibe at him, saying he does not go to the state secretariat as a tantrik has told him that if he goes there, he will lose the upcoming elections.

Addressing a public meeting in Telangana during the state tour on Saturday on the concluding day of the second phase of BJP’s month-long ‘Praja Sangram Yatra’, Amit Shah said, “You don’t need a tantrik to say this That the youth of Telangana will throw you out.”

Describing the KCR-led government as “corrupt and useless”, he appealed to people to give a missed call to a phone number issued by the party to express support for state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

The Home Minister pointed to the promises made during the creation of Telangana State and asked the people whether they were fulfilled. He said that “I want to remind the people of Telangana that KCR had promised Neelu (water), Nidhulu (funds) and Niyamkalu (jobs). Has any of this been fulfilled? We will fulfill those promises. .we will give water, money and jobs.”

Shah also attacked the chief minister over issues of farmers, promises made to Dalits, OBCs and development of critical infrastructure.

He said that “You promised to waive farmers’ loans… You promised to give 2 BHK flats… You didn’t.. You promised 50,000 crores for Dalits… You gave three acres to every Dalit. Promised to give land… you did… don’t even give 30 paisa.”

The senior BJP leader, whose party had won two assembly bypolls and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election in the last two years, expressed confidence of the BJP coming to power in the state in the next year’s elections and urged voters to Elected the saffron party to usher in a secure and prosperous Telangana.

Continuing the attack on the ruling government, he said that KCR did not even allocate Rs 100 crore for the welfare of backward classes.

Shah said, “You had to build four super specialty hospitals in Hyderabad, but you ruined Osmania and Gandhi Medical Colleges.”

The Home Minister reiterated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s charge that the state government worked for the benefit of only one person and his family.

He said that KCR has given rights to his children and not to the elected representatives.

Referring to TRS’s election symbol car, Amit Shah alleged that its operation is in the hands of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi.

“I have been in public life for the last 13 years and have never seen a worse government than this,” he said.

The Home Minister attacked the KCR government on many issues like paddy procurement, education and housing. He also accused the state government of fooling people by renaming them centrally funded projects with pictures of himself and his son.

On the alleged strictness against BJP workers, he claimed that efforts were being made to make Telangana like West Bengal. There is a clear reference to the death of party workers in the eastern state, for which the BJP blames the ruling TMC there.
