BJP leader and Revenue Minister Ram Surat Rai alleged – terrorists and goons were behind the movement, they were hired and used by political parties

Patna:

A Bihar minister on Tuesday alleged that “terrorists” and “goons” were employed by political parties for violent protests against the Agneepath scheme. BJP leader and Revenue Minister Ram Surat Rai’s remarks came a day after his party colleague and MLA Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul accused the protesters opposing the Agneepath scheme of being “jihadi”.

Rai alleged, “There were terrorists and goons behind the movement. They were hired and used by political parties.

Though the state minister did not name any party, BJP leaders like Union minister Giriraj Singh have accused the opposition RJD of arson and violence in the state last week.

The BJP’s stand has faced disapproval from its own ally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party, the JDU, which has maintained that the protest was spontaneous.
