Significantly, Kashmir is a huge market for Pashmina shawls in Saudi Arabia. Notably, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was seen wearing a Kashmiri shawl while presiding over a meeting of the Public Investment Fund last year as well.

Pashmina is one of the six traditional crafts of Kashmiri origin, which include Sojani-embroidery, Kani-shawl, papier-mâché, khatamband and walnut wood carving, which have been given the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, which are sold in the international market. It is a symbol of their uniqueness.
Pashmina is a fine wool derived from the goat found in the cold desert of Ladakh. The wool is used by the artisans and craftsmen of Kashmir to make exquisite handmade shawls, which are in huge demand across the world.
