The construction of Panduka bridge connecting Bihar-Jharkhand will be done at a cost of 196.12 crore. Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation has floated its tender. Its proceedings are underway. This bridge, connecting Palamu’s Srinagar to Rohtas’ Nowhatta block, is to be constructed on the Son river in two years.
People of Nowhatta block of Rohtas and Kandi block of Garhwa district of Jharkhand are eagerly waiting for the start of bridge construction work. With the construction of this bridge, the relationship between Rohtas and Garhwa, which has been going on for centuries, will further strengthen. It will be easy to go to Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Let us tell you, after Dehri on Sone there is no bridge over Son river till 100KM, due to which people have to go to Dehri to cross the bridge by vehicle. A boat has to be used to cross the Sone, which causes a lot of trouble. The construction of Panduka bridge will solve all these problems.
Competition for credit among public representatives
The struggle for the construction of the Panduka bridge has been going on since 2010. People’s representatives of Rohtas and Garhwa of Jharkhand have been demanding this. Now that the construction on the bridge is about to start, there is a competition to take credit. From Sasaram MP Chhedi Paswan, former Chenari MLA Lalan Paswan to Palamu MP and DIG of Shahabad Police Range, BD Ram is issuing statements on the statement.
Palamu MP has said on Twitter- ‘Two days ago, I have met the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and requested them to execute the tender of Panduka Bridge without delay.’ Here, former MLA Lalan Paswan has told- ‘Dozens of contractors have filled the tender for the construction of the bridge. All the documents are being scrutinized carefully. It may take thirty to forty days to complete the investigation of the information received from the corporation. After that the work will start.
