Bus stand remained closed for two hours: Employees protested due to non-payment of salary, 1200 buses affected

Due to non-payment of Punjab Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) salary, bus stands in many cities of Punjab were closed for two hours on Tuesday. Due to this, neither the bus left from the bus stand nor the buses were allowed inside. Around 1200 buses were affected in Punjab.

It is worth noting that PRTC employees have not been paid salary for this month yet. Due to this, PRTC employees protested at many bus stands in Punjab and also blocked the buses for two hours. The employees say that their salary has not yet been released by the Punjab government. During inflation, they are facing difficulties due to non-release of their salary.

114 buses affected in Amritsar

Due to the protest outside the bus stand, around 1200 buses have been affected across Punjab. In Amritsar alone, 114 buses were affected for two hours. Buses were neither allowed inside the bus stand nor allowed outside for two hours during the protest. This caused problems for the passengers.

The PRTC employees have clarified that if the salary is not deposited in their accounts soon, they will be forced to take a tough stand. They will also hit the streets. Not only this, the main roads will also be blocked.
