Case will be filed against RLD MLA for insulting tricolor: Muzaffarnagar fast track court orders to file case against Anil Kumar in 7 days

Purkaji MLA Anil Kumar is in trouble for hoisting the tricolor inverted on August 15, 2021 in Muzaffarnagar. Hearing the petition of an advocate, the fast track court has ordered the police of New Mandi Kotwali to take action against the sitting MLA of RLD by registering a case under relevant sections within 7 days.

It was a case of insult to the tricolor

On the occasion of Independence Day, sitting RLD MLA Anil Kumar had hoisted the national flag on 15 August 2021 at a petrol pump located on Pachenda Road. The photo of MLA Anil Kumar and 4 others hoisting the national flag upside down went viral on social media. To which people had given different reactions.

Advocate Sanjeev Tyagi reached the court

Advocate Sanjeev Tyagi had approached the court taking seriously the insult to the tricolor. He had filed an application in the Civil Judge Senior Division Fast Track Court under 156(3) CrPC and accused Purkaji MLA Anil Kumar of RLD and 4 others of insulting the national flag. He had said in the application that he did not like seeing the then former MLA Anil Kumar hoisting him upside down in a viral photo on social media. He had said that it is an insult to the nation. He had requested the court to order to register a case against Anil Kumar and others under relevant sections in this case. After which Judge Mayank Jaiswal of Civil Judge Senior Division Fast Track Court issued an order to the Inspector in-charge of New Mandi Kotwali to register a case against Anil Kumar and others under relevant sections within 7 days.
