He alleged that the rising fuel prices are being blamed on the states, while more than 65% of all fuel taxes are collected by the Centre.
New Delhi :
In recent times, there has been a continuous increase in the prices of petrol-diesel and CNG. Opposition parties have been continuously besieging the central government regarding this. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again targeted the Center on this issue. He taunted that the state is being blamed for rising fuel prices, while 68% of all fuel taxes are collected by the Centre. At the same time, the central government has been accusing the states ruled by the opposition that these states are not reducing the VAT on petrol and diesel.
Rahul Gandhi has tweeted that high fuel prices – State’s fault, Coal shortage – State’s fault, Oxygen shortage – State’s fault. 68% of all fuel taxes are collected by the Centre. Yet, the PM shies away from responsibility. Modi’s federalism is not an ally.
High Fuel prices – blame states
Coal shortage – blame states
Oxygen shortage – blame states68% of all fuel taxes are taken by the centre. Yet, the PM abdicates responsibility.
Modi’s Federalism is not cooperative. It’s coercive.

Let us tell you that recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) in the meeting of Chief Ministers appealed to the states ruled by the opposition to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel. He said that the central government had cut excise last year. After this, the states ruled by BJP gave relief to the public by reducing VAT. But this was not done in the states ruled by the opposition. In his address today, PM Modi compared the increased prices of petrol in the states ruled by the opposition with the neighboring states ruled by the BJP and NDA, and explained how due to non-reduction of VAT, the cost of petrol in these states is higher than that of the neighboring states. Diesel is expensive.
