Charges not settled in provocative speech case, hearing postponed: 10 people including former MP Sayeduzzaman, Qadir Rana accused in Muzaffarnagar riots case

The hearing could not be held in the court today for making inflammatory speeches in the Muzaffarnagar riots case of 2013. Due to the death of 2 advocates on Thursday, the District Bar Association had declared no work. Due to which the charges could not be fixed on 10 including former MPs Saiduzzaman, Qadir Rana, accused in the inflammatory speech case. Now the court will hear the matter on June 30. Ehsan Qureshi and Musharraf Qureshi, accused in the inflammatory speech case, appeared in the fast track court on Thursday. Whereas on behalf of the remaining 8 accused, an application for apology was presented in the court.

2013 riots sparked from Kawal village
After the murder of Shahnawaz on 27 August 2013 in Kawal village of Jansath, my brothers Sachin and Gaurav were beaten to death by an angry mob. Communal tension had spread in the district with 3 murders in a single day. On 28 August, while returning from the funeral of Sachin and Gaurav, people ransacked the houses of the Muslim community in Kawal. This incident had created more tension in the atmosphere.

After Friday prayers, a meeting was held at Shaheed Chowk.
After the events of 27 and 28 August 2013, a gathering of people of Muslim community was organized after Friday prayers on 30 August at Shaheed Chowk. Leaders belonging to SP, BSP and Congress participated in it. At the end of the meeting a memorandum was given to the then DM Kaushal Raj Sharma and SSP Subhash Chandra Dubey.

During the 2013 riots, Para Military Force was deployed in the district.

10 people including former minister and MP were nominated
On August 30, after Friday prayers at Shaheed Chowk, Muslim leaders addressed the people present. DM and SSP also reached the stage. To whom action was demanded against the accused by giving a memorandum. A few days after the incident, the city Kotwali police arrested Congress leader and former MP and former State Minister of State for Home Sayeduzzaman, then BSP MP Qadir Rana, then BSP MLA Nursalim Rana and Maulana Jameel Ahmed Qasmi, Congress leader Salman Sayeed, former member Ed. Asad Zaman, Ed. A case was registered against 700 unidentified people including Sultan Musheer, Ahsan Qureshi, Naishad Qureshi, Musharraf Qureshi on various charges including provocative speeches.

Case came from MP-MLA court to fast track court
After the investigation of the case, the police submitted a charge sheet against all the accused in the court. After this the case was transferred to the special MP-MLA court constituted on the instructions of the High Court. After hearing in the special MP-MLA court for nearly two years, the file of the related case went to the fast track court last year. Hearing in this case, the court had fixed June 23 as the date for framing of charges against all the accused. Along with this, everyone was directed to personally attend the court. But due to the strike of advocates on Thursday, the matter could not be heard. The court has now fixed June 30 for hearing.
