Chhattisgarh, ANI: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of tampering with the image of Lord Ram over the years by the BJP government. CM Baghel said that the image of Ram is such that he always wants the welfare of the state and peace in the state. But the BJP government in collaboration with the RSS changed the image of Ram for the past several years. During his speech in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Baghel said, ‘Lord Ram, a symbol of dignity and peace, has been portrayed in the form of Rambo, a warrior, over the years.’ And exactly the same has happened with Hanuman which is not good for the society.

Chief Minister Baghel said that Lord Ram is a part of Indian culture, he is both in corporeal and formless form. We Indians have accepted Lord Ram in many forms, in which Ram of Kabir, Ram of Tulsi and sometimes Ram of Shabri are also seen. Lord Ram resides in the soul of every Indian. Lord Rama is in different forms for everyone. Farmers, tribals, intellectuals and devotees see him differently.

Speaking to ANI, Baghel said that in the last few years, making the image of Lord Ram and Hanuman offensive is bad for the society.

BJP made Lord Ram a ‘warrior Rambo’

CM Bhupesh Baghel said, ‘We consider Lord Ram as Maryadapurushtam, gentleman and a person of dignity and always think about Ram-Rajya. The image of Lord Rama has always been that of a gentle man and only by seeing his image, by remembering it, there is a feeling of coolness in the mind. Similarly, Hanuman ji is a symbol of knowledge, devotion and power. But for the past few years we are seeing that Lord Ram is being shown as a war revolution. The warrior Rambo has been made. Lord Rama seems to be always in a combat posture. This is not good for the society.

Changed image of Lord Hanuman

CM Baghel said above Lord Hanuman that ‘Hanuman ji’s image is always visible to us in knowledge posture and sometimes in devotional posture. If you look at the old pictures, he is in meditation. But in the posters of BJP and RSS, he is being depicted in an angry and aggressive manner.

CM Baghel further said that ‘In the society, who are our ideal men who are the center of faith, all these who are incarnations of our God, whom we believe in which we have faith, I do not consider it appropriate to be presented in this form.’
