Chhattisgarh Corona LIVE: 4 deaths in the state including one and a half year old child in Raipur; In active cases, 15% of the age is below 18 years

The third wave of corona in Chhattisgarh is now taking lives every day. Four patients died in the state on Tuesday. A one-and-a-half year old child was also among the dead. The corona was detected when the family brought the child to the hospital after his health deteriorated. He could not be saved even after three days of treatment.

In Dantewada, 69 infected patients have been found in a single day. These include 7 school children including a teacher. After this, the district administration has issued an order to close all the schools and Anganwadi centers from 1st to 5th from today.

Birgaon resident mechanic father had reached a private hospital in the capital on 9 January with his one and a half year old child. The child’s corona test was done as per the protocol before being admitted to the hospital. In this the child was found corona positive. After being admitted for a day, the private hospital referred the child to Raipur AIIMS. The child died on Tuesday during treatment there.

The third wave of Corona has engulfed a large number of children. It is being told that about 15% of the total infected are below 18 years of age. With this value, the number of infected children across the state is around 3500. This is the first death of a child in this wave. Many children also lost their lives during the second wave.

The three other patients who died on Tuesday were from Raipur, Bilaspur and Raigad districts. According to the Health Department, those patients were admitted for the treatment of other diseases, where corona infection was also confirmed in them. They died during treatment. So far 13 thousand 623 people have lost their lives due to this epidemic in the state.

Corona in primary school of Dantewada: Teachers including 7 students infected, schools up to 5th closed; Maximum 78 cases were found in Kanker, 283 cases were found in the division.

5151 new patients found across the state

In Chhattisgarh till 8 pm on Tuesday, 5 thousand 151 new corona patients have been found. At the same time 483 people were discharged. Out of this, 102 people were discharged from hospitals. 55 thousand 946 samples have been taken on Tuesday. Now the total number of active patients in the state has gone up to 23 thousand 886. This is the largest number of active patients after the second wave of corona has passed.

Infection rate reached 9.21%

The infection rate of Chhattisgarh has increased to 9.21%. On January 1, this rate was only 1.18%. By the second week of December, this rate was less than one per cent. The cases started increasing from the last week of December and within two weeks the number of patients in the state has increased to more than 23 thousand. Reports of deaths are also coming continuously for the last three days.

Infection caught dangerous pace in the fort

On Tuesday, the maximum number of one thousand 454 patients have been found in Raipur district itself. Now there are 7 thousand 266 patients here. Meanwhile, the infection has picked up a dangerous pace in Durg district. 950 new patients have been found here. People like Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav, Mayor Neeraj Pal are also included in this. Now there are two thousand 962 active cases in Durg-Bhilai. On Tuesday, 596 new patients have been found in Raigad, 443 in Korba, 396 in Bilaspur and 255 in Janjgir-Champa.

Situation worsens in Bastar, night curfew in Jagdalpur

The situation in Bastar has also worsened due to the third wave of Corona. The district administration has announced night curfew in Jagdalpur from 9 pm to 6 am. Police patrol has been increased. 53 new patients have been found in Bastar. On the other hand, 13 new patients have been found in Kondagaon, 69 in Dantewada, 23 in Sukma, 78 in Kanker, 16 in Narayanpur and 31 in Bijapur.
