Chhattisgarhi singer died: CM Bhupesh Baghel expressed grief; Said- ‘Lata Khaparde worked for the upliftment of folk music throughout her life’

Famous singer of Chhattisgarh Lata Khaparde passed away late on Wednesday night in Rajnandgaon. On Thursday, the last yatra was taken out from his residence in Bharkapara in the city, in which a large number of people participated. State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has condoled the death of singer Lata Khaparde. CM Bhupesh said that what Lata ji did for the upliftment of Chhattisgarhi dialect and folk music will never be forgotten.

The health of Lata Khaparde, a singer associated with folk culture and tattooed cultural stage, deteriorated on Wednesday afternoon. In the evening he suddenly had a heart attack. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but he died during treatment.

Lata Khaparde dedicated her life to Chhattisgarh folk art. From the age of 6, he established his feet in the field of Chhattisgarhi folk art by living in the company of well-known folk artist Ramchandra Deshmukh. After this he worked with personalities like Khuman Sau and Habib Tanveer. She was associated with Habib Tanveer’s ‘Naya Theatre’ for a long time. The people of Chhattisgarh got to see the best performance of Lata Khaparde in many plays of Habib Tanveer.

Government of India gave fellowship for research on marriage songs

Lata Khaparde got recognition across the country from Peepli Live. He gave recognition to the folk art of Chhattisgarh not only in the country and the state but also abroad. He also exhibited his art in countries like Germany and Russia. Lata Khaparde sang about 400 songs. He was also given a fellowship by the Government of India to do research on marriage songs. Lata Khaparde had recorded two of her songs two days back.

Lata Khaparde also worked in Chhattisgarh Akashvani and achieved a new position through her singing. His sweet voice will always be alive in people’s mind. He was cremated on Thursday.
