Chilling cold in Punjab: Amritsar was the coldest with 4 degree minimum temperature; Chills will increase for the next 4 days

After fresh snowfall and rain on the mountains, dense fog is covering the plains. Along with this, chills and tremors have also increased. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be fog in most areas of Punjab for the coming 4 days, but there is a possibility of sunshine till the afternoon. Due to haze, the weather is once again recording a decline in the flat areas. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, Amritsar was the coldest on Wednesday.

The temperature in the district was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius and visibility was also recorded at ‘nil’. On the other hand, the minimum temperature of Pathankot increased from 5.7 degrees to 6.9 degrees Celsius. Apart from Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ferozepur also recorded a drop in temperature. Jalandhar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1 and Firozpur recorded a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the day temperature may remain in the range of 16 to 21 degrees across Punjab.

Most of the cities of Punjab will remain foggy in the morning hours for the next four days.

Chances of sunshine later in the afternoon

There is a possibility of sunshine in Amritsar after noon. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted clearing of the weather on Wednesday, but according to new reports, the haze will continue for the next four days. Apart from this, the minimum temperature is expected to remain in the range of 3 degrees to 16 degrees.

CAT-3 system neutralizing haze

Visibility was zero in the outskirts of Amritsar. But due to the CAT-3 system at the airport, the planes could land easily. Currently, there is a ban on international flights, despite this, some chartered planes are landing at Amritsar Airport. Apart from this, domestic flights are landing at Amritsar Airport. The CAT-3 system neutralized the haze on Wednesday.
