Former Lok Janshakti Party president and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan on Friday claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may have discussed himself with Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav during his recent meeting.

Chirag Paswan was answering questions from reporters about Kumar’s meeting with NDA leader Yadav earlier this week on the issue of caste census. He now stands isolated in the party floated by his late father Ram Vilas Paswan.

Taking a jibe at the conversation between Kumar and Yadav, Chirag Paswan asked what was happening behind closed doors for the caste census in Bihar or whether Kumar could break away from his ally BJP and discuss ways to stay in power. Are you?

Expressing surprise over the “so much time” given by the Chief Minister to Yadav, he said that recently Kumar had gone on foot to attend an Iftar party organized by RJD.

Kumar had severed ties with the RJD and joined hands with the BJP over Yadav’s alleged involvement in a money laundering case.

Fully supporting the demand for caste census, Chirag Paswan said, “The chief minister’s ally at the Center has made it clear that it will not conduct a caste census, so it is hard to believe that his conversation (with Yadav) happened on this issue. Kumar must be trying to make compromises to stay in the chair.”

Asked whether he sees the possibility of Kumar reuniting with the RJD led by Yadav’s father Lalu Prasad, Chirag Paswan said, “Why not, the chief minister’s thirst for power has given rise to many of his political faces.” Have given. That’s definitely a possibility as well.”
