Pollution is increasing in Delhi for three-four days due to the neighboring states starting stubble burning in Delhi. It is clear from the pictures of NASA that farmers in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have started burning stubble. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed a digital press conference and said that due to stubble burning in neighboring states, pollution is now increasing in Delhi. The Delhi government is making every effort to stop and control the increasing pollution in Delhi.

Where the Winter Action Plan is applicable regarding this. At the same time, the Delhi government has made preparations to start the Red Light On, Vehicle Off campaign. So we have to take some more steps. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal while addressing a digital press conference said that for the last 1 month, I myself have been tweeting the air pollution data in Delhi every day. Delhi’s own pollution is in the safe limit.

Together with 20 million people of Delhi, we have worked to reduce 25 percent pollution. Kejriwal said that pollution remains under control throughout the year. Pollution is increasing in Delhi for 3-4 days. The reason for this is the burning of stubble. Like the Delhi government, the governments in the surrounding states have not helped the farmers. Therefore, incidents of stubble burning by farmers are increasing.

Use public transport once a week: CM
Kejriwal said that to reduce the pollution of stubble, we should try to reduce the pollution of our Delhi. We have implemented 10 points to reduce pollution in Delhi under the Winter Action Plan. Today I am asking for the cooperation of the people. Today I am appealing by making 3 requests. Do not use a private vehicle for a day, or do car pooling. Kejriwal also appealed to the people that we should not use our scooter, car or other vehicle on one day in a week.
It will be of great benefit. If we do public vehicle or car pooling once a week, then Delhi will definitely get its benefit. He said that we always request our neighboring states to take steps to stop pollution but we can try our share to stop pollution as we have been doing for many years.

All people of Delhi should download Green Delhi App
Kejriwal said that all the people of Delhi should download the Green Delhi app and wherever they see any kind of pollution, they should immediately complain about it. Kejriwal said that so far 23 thousand complaints have been resolved. People are complaining a lot on the app. We are dealing with all these expeditiously. The truck is going, there is a lot of pollution from the industry, there is pollution due to burning of garbage, the team will work to stop this pollution.

Government to launch Red Light on Gaadi Off campaign in Delhi on October 18
Kejriwal also presented an example by enumerating the benefits of this campaign to stop pollution and gave the figures. He told that Petroleum Conservation Research believes that 13 to 20 percent can reduce pollution. With this, you can save about Rs 250 crore annually. Kejriwal said that last year all of us together had run the program ‘Red Light On, Gaadi Off’.
It had great results. Often we stop our car when there is a red light, but keep the engine of the car on. This keeps petrol and diesel burning. Many times there is so much pollution due to vehicles on red light that if you stand there, your eyes start burning. Today we have to take this oath that now whenever we stop at red light, we will stop the car. This campaign is officially starting from October 18 on behalf of the Delhi government, but you should start shutting down your vehicle at red light from today.
