The temple of Mother Sheetla, Badi Patanadevi and Chhoti Patanadevi temple has special significance
According to historians, the temple of Mother Sheetla and the religious well located here have been in their place since 2,500 years ago. The idol enshrined in the temple was once found in a standing form during the digging of a well in Tulsi Mandi. According to historians, Emperor Ashoka had his 99 brothers murdered and put them in this well.
Now this well has been surrounded by a high circle for security. Badi and Choti Patan Devi is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of the mother. The southern thigh of Mother Sati had fallen in Badi Patanadevi. The part of mother Sati’s back had fallen in Choti Patnadevi. Due to their different characteristics, these three temples are very special for the devotees and on the occasion of Navratras, lakhs of devotees throng here.
