New Delhi, Agency. There is a scuffle between Tejas Express and Vande Bharat Train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, due to which IRCTC has expressed concern. Soon Vande Bharat Train will be started on Mumbai and Ahmedabad route at the same time.

IRCTC wrote a letter regarding the new Vande Bharat

Sources said that IRCTC, in two letters in August and September, had said that due to the timing clash, the objective of introducing Tejas Express, the premium corporate train of the Railways, would be defeated.

Railways did not give any response

The Railway PSU was not available for any comments on the matter. Sources said that IRCTC has conveyed to the Railway Board that the introduction of Vande Bharat Express on the same route will adversely affect the running of Tejas Express.

IRCTC gave information to the Railways

Fearing a possible loss in passenger numbers, IRCTC has told Indian Railways that it has made a lot of efforts to create consumer for the express by making changes in both train fares and services.

Tejas Express Timings

Tejas Express departs from Ahmedabad at 6:40 am and reaches Mumbai at 1:05 am, while in the other direction it departs from Mumbai Central at 3:45 pm and reaches Ahmedabad at 10:10 pm.

New Vande Bharat Express Timings

As per the proposed timings, the new Vande Bharat Express will leave Ahmedabad at 7:25 am and reach Mumbai at 1:30 pm. In the other direction it will depart Mumbai Central at 2:40 PM and reach Ahmedabad at 9:05 PM.

Running of Vande Bharat will affect Tejas Express

The later letter stated that the difference between the two trains would be 45 minutes to 75 minutes in both the directions and the run time of Vande Bharat Express would also be less as compared to Tejas Express from both the sides would be approx. It takes 6.25 to 6.50 hours. Thus Tejas Express will be more affected due to the running of Vande Bharat Express.
