New Delhi, ANI. This morning it was reported that the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) has made a recommendation to DCGI (Drugs Controller General of India) for the use of Bharat Biotech’s Vaccine for children aged 2-18 years. Under this, approval has been given for the use of Covaccine. Children between the ages of 2 and 18 years can be vaccinated against Covaccine.

Giving a statement on the approval of children’s corona vaccine in the evening, Union Minister of State for Health Bharti Praveen Pawar said that work is going on right now. I think there is some confusion coming up. DCGI approval has not been received yet. Experts will decide, after that the vaccine will come. The process is ongoing and we do not interfere in that.

It is being told that the results of the corona vaccine trial running on children for some time are satisfactory. There have been three trials in this. The results of the trial have been submitted to the DCGI. In such a situation, soon the guidelines related to the corona vaccine can be issued by the government to the children. How many doses of corona vaccine will be given to children? If more than one dose is given, what will be the difference between them? How effective has the corona vaccine proved to be on children? The answers to these questions are yet to be received from official sources. However, it is believed that children will also have to take two doses of corona.

Earlier in India, Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine ZyCoV-D has received approval from DCGI for emergency use. It can be used for 12 year olds, teenagers and adults. This was the world’s first DNA-based vaccine made in India. Let us tell you that at this time in India, Kovishield, Covaccine and Sputnik-V vaccine are being given only to adults. Two doses of these vaccines are given. So far, about 97 crore people in India have been given doses of corona.
