Congress fight in Delhi: Police stopped the Chief Minister walking from Congress headquarters towards ED office, picketing on the road

Congress’s struggle against the Enforcement Directorate-ED questioning of Rahul Gandhi has intensified for the fifth day. Inquiry continues in ED’s office about Rahul Gandhi’s National Herald case. At the same time, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was going to protest from the Congress headquarters towards the ED office, has been stopped by the police. The Chief Minister is staging a sit-in on the road.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached the Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road on Tuesday morning. Here he held a meeting with senior Congress officials and discussed the further strategy regarding Agneepath plan and ED’s action. It was decided that even today all the leaders and workers should reach the ED office and express their protest.

The batches of Youth Congress, NSUI and Mahila Congress held separate meetings and decided the strategy. After that all the people divided into different groups and left on foot towards the ED office. A short distance away, the police stopped the protesters by putting up barricades. The police also stopped Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. After that all the ministers and MLAs including the Chief Minister started raising slogans sitting on the road. Police have detained hundreds of protesters.

All MLAs have started going to Delhi

Congress has called all its MPs and MLAs from across the country to Delhi. In the morning a dozen MLAs including Minister Amarjit Bhagat, Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey have reached there. Some have left by an afternoon flight. MLAs from far and wide will also reach Raipur by evening and leave for Delhi, there is such information. Congress has 71 MLAs in Chhattisgarh.

MLA Vikas Upadhyay also spoke in a separate meeting of Mahila Congress.

Many of the Congress leaders-workers who arrived from all over the country have camped at the Congress headquarters itself. Many people who left the Congress are living there. After participating in rallies, demonstrations, eating food there and sleeping there at night too. Those who have stayed at other places are also staying in the Congress headquarters till late night.
