The Congress MP said, “It is very unfortunate that a person who has got so much from the party is now talking about the party like this.”

Congress MP JB Mather has targeted the leader KV Thomas, who was expelled from the party before the Congress’s Chintan Shivir. Responding to Thomas’ statement of the party adopting the path of “soft Hindutva” during a meeting regarding the by-polls, the Rajya Sabha MP said the agenda of the former Union minister is “self-centred”. They only care about their selfishness. JB said that Thoman claimed to be a member of the party, but he was supporting opposition candidates.

Because of this the party expelled

The Congress MP said, “The first thing is that we need discipline in the party. In such a situation, they should have thought in advance. It is very unfortunate that a person who has got so much from the party, is now talking like this in relation to the party.” There is no fact in what he is saying. His agenda is self-centred. The party expelled Thomas and praised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, hours after he addressed a program organized by the CPI (ML) on Thursday for the Thrikkakara bypoll.

‘Will destroy religious harmony’

It is worth noting that Thoman had said in the program organized by the CPI (ML), “We stand with the people. Congress’s soft Hindu approach will destroy religious harmony in the country. Congress is not just a party, it is a feeling, There is a culture, there is a thought. I have come here as a Congress leader and appeal to you to vote for the LDF candidate.”

He said, “Only a strong ruler can rule in difficult times. Pinarayi Vijayan can do that. In this election I am with the development of Kochi and Thrikkakara. But Congress’s view is that if Pinarayi brings developmental projects If so, we will oppose it. This method is not right in Kerala.”
