New Delhi, PTI. For the last few days, the cases of corona virus in the country remained below 10 thousand, now they have increased once again. However, if seen, India has controlled the corona epidemic to a great extent. One of the reasons behind this is also the rapid vaccines introduced in the country. At the same time, if seen, the situation has still not improved from Kovid-19 in many parts of the world. Meanwhile, the latest figures of Kovid-19 in India have been released by the Union Health Ministry. According to the latest update on Friday, India recorded 10,549 new coronavirus cases in the last 24-hour period. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 3 crore 45 lakh 55 thousand 431, while the active cases have increased to 1,10,133.

According to the data updated at 8 am, 488 people have also died due to corona virus. With this, the death toll has increased to 4,67,468. An increase of 193 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a 24-hour period. Further, the health ministry said that active cases comprise 0.32 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.33 per cent.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 49 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 152 consecutive days.

Talking about India’s COVID-19 tally, it had crossed 20 lakh cases on 7 August (2020), 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It had crossed 60 lakh cases on 28 September, 70 lakh cases on 11 October. It crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December. India had crossed the grim figure of two crore cases by May 4 and three crore on June 23.
