Tamil Nadu has recently reported the first case of Omicron BA.4 form after a teenager tested positive for COVID-19. The Health Department on Saturday appealed to the people not to panic after the identification of the new form. Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister M. Subramaniam said that a 19-year-old woman was found infected with the new form and she is now recovering.

Subramaniam told reporters, “Those who came in contact with the woman were not affected. Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan and senior officials of the department met her on Friday night and she was fine. He was given both doses of the vaccine.” He said, “Therefore, to protect themselves from any kind of corona virus form, we appeal to the public to get vaccinated in the vaccination camp to be organized on June 12. ”
