Cyber thugs defrauded a youth of Barwala area of 95 thousand rupees. The hackers had sent codes on the phone posing as a friend of the young man’s father, which on scanning, Rs 95 thousand was deducted from the account. The police have started investigation by registering a case on the complaint of Amit, a resident of Barwala.
In the complaint given to the police, Amit told that on Tuesday, he got a call from an unknown number. The caller introduced himself as a friend of his father. Also said that his number has been taken from his father. The caller told that he had borrowed 30 thousand rupees from his father sometime back. He wants to return that amount. His father’s bank account is not linked online. By saying this, the hackers said to send 30 thousand rupees to his account.
According to Amit, he felt that the collar was his father’s friend, that is why he said yes. After this, the code came on Amit’s phone number, after scanning it, instead of getting money in his account, 30 thousand rupees were deducted. When he called again on the same number, the caller said that it has happened by mistake, he is sending the link again. With this, an amount of 60 thousand will come in his account. According to Amit, after scanning the link again, an amount of 65 thousand was deducted from his account. In this way, the cyber thug cheated 95 thousand rupees from him. When he called that number again, it was found closed. The police have started investigation by registering a case on the basis of the complaint.
