Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) local MLA Amanatullah Khan, in coordination with the Market Association, got the structures removed.
In the midst of the high voltage drama, people from political parties had also gathered there. In view of this, a large number of police forces were deployed there. Earlier, when the police officials were talking to the local shopkeepers, the drive to remove the encroachment was put on hold.

Amanatullah Khan alleged that BJP is doing politics on the pretext of removing encroachment. He said that there is no illegal encroachment anywhere in Shaheen Bagh. He said that whatever illegal constructions were there, he himself got them removed.
