Jagran Correspondent, Kapurthala : Mother’s Day cannot be limited to just one day. We should thank our mother everyday and express gratitude. Principal Dr. Archana Garg said these words while addressing the children during a function dedicated to Mother’s Day on behalf of the local Hindu Girls Collegiate School. School children and their mothers participated with enthusiasm in this program organized to salute mother’s love and sacrifice. Many competitions were also organized on this occasion. Simran Kaur of 12th Arts got first place in Rangoli competition, Manpreet Kaur of 12th Non Medical and Srishti of 12th Arts got third place in Rangoli competition.

In the cooking competition organized on the topic of my mother’s favorite dish, Chahat of 12th Medical stood first, Ramneet Kaur of 12th commerce stood second and Lovepreet Kaur of 12th commerce stood third. Apart from this, Supreet Kaur of 12th Non Medical, Gaganjot Kaur of Commerce stood second and Davidradeep Kaur of Commerce stood third in calligraphy competition. Swati of 12th commerce expressed her feelings on the glory of the mother. Prachi of 11th Commerce presented an emotional poem. Meanwhile, many games were organized for the mothers of the children. Principal Dr. Archana Garg appealed to the children to respect their mothers and keep friendly behavior with them and help them in their work. He said that no one can understand children better than a mother and in the true sense there is heaven in the feet of the mother. The winners were also awarded on the occasion. On this occasion Prof. Jaswant Kaur, Superintendent Sanjeev Bhalla, Mamta Bhasin, Geeta Chopra and the rest of the school staff were present. Madam Mukti conducted the stage well.
