New Delhi, Online Desk. Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik was on Wednesday reprimanded for violating the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct. The BCCI has said in a release that Dinesh Karthik has violated the rules of IPL. Wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik was found guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Sharjah.

The official press release issued by the BCCI and IPL read, “Karthik admitted to offense 2.2 of Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. The match referee for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct. The decision is final and binding.” Dinesh Karthik has only been reprimanded by the BCCI for the time being, but in future these mistakes of his may cost him dearly. Even a one-match ban could happen, but it is not clearly stated what was Karthik’s mistake.

The exact nature of the breach of the IPL code of conduct was not specified by the IPL, but Karthik was seen frantically removing the stumps after he was dismissed during a high-voltage game on Wednesday. Perhaps this is the reason, due to which Karthik has been reprimanded by the BCCI. Earlier on Wednesday, Kolkata have entered the final after KKR won by three wickets against Delhi. Rahul Tripathi gave the team victory by hitting a six in the fifth ball of the 20th over. Earlier, opener Venkatesh Iyer had scored a brilliant half-century, due to which he got the player of the match title.
