Arshdeep Kaur, 20, who was arrested with 50 narcotic injections, has been sentenced to 12 years by the District Court. The court has also imposed a fine of one lakh 20 thousand rupees. Arshdeep, a resident of Sector-41 Badhedi village, was arrested by the police two years ago from near Sector-39. The case was going on in the court under Section 22 of the NDPS Act.
According to the case, on July 10, 2019, the crime branch team was patrolling. When the police team was near Sector-39 at around 2 pm, they saw a girl coming from the front, with a carry bag in her hand. Seeing the police in front, she panicked and changed her course. He tried to hide the bag he was holding. The police got suspicious. The police stopped him. He then tried to throw the polythene bag but the lady constable caught him. When searched, 50 injections were recovered from his possession. She could not show the license or permit to the police.
The girl said, I have been implicated in a false case
The girl said that the police have implicated her in a false case. She was sleeping at home on 10 July 2019. Then the police team arrived and took him to the Sector-11 Crime Branch office after sitting in the car. She was 18 years old at the time of the incident and she was studying in 11th standard. He had no idea about these injections. But the court did not accept his arguments and sentenced him.
