Border-Gavaskar Series: After Australia’s humiliating defeat in the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar series, former cricketer Ian Chappell has given great advice to Nathan Lyon. Chappell has said that “Lyon should not try to be Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja because he will not be able to do it. He should play his natural game and trust his strength.”

Chappell further said that “Indian spinners bowled brilliantly in the second innings of the second Test. In which Jadeja took 7 wickets.

Talking to ESPN Cricinfo, he said, “Nathan Lyon tries to bowl like the opposition spinners (Ashwin and Jadeja). But Ashwin and Jadeja know what they have to do? I have seen Ashwin and Jadeja bowling in Australia, they bowl very well. He is very smart and he knows what to do and he does it. Jadeja is not too different from him, he has learned a lot and improved in his performance. They have bowling skills and together they do a great job for India.

Chappell said “I think Ashwin bowled better in this game, but Jadeja took 7 wickets. Speaking about Leone, he said, “I don’t think you can copy him, he should bowl the way Leone bowls.”
