Manila, ANI Earthquake in Philippines. Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in the Philippines today. The earthquake was felt in the province of Batangas on the main Philippine island of Luzon. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 132 km, about 21 km northwest of the city of Calatagon. The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 on the Richter scale.

There may be more tremors

Xinhua news agency reported that after the tectonic earthquake, there will be more earthquake tremors and there is a possibility of damage. Because of its location along the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, the Philippines experiences frequent seismic activity.

Tremors were also felt in Metro Manila and Bulacan and Oriental Mindoro provinces. However, no information has been received about any damage or casualties so far. The quake occurred 1 km east-northeast of Bungahan, with its epicenter at a depth of 129.0 km, initially determined at 13.9517 degrees north latitude and 120.6771 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.

Yesterday also there was earthquake

Several earthquakes have been felt in the Philippines in just a few months. Meanwhile, at 9:50 pm (local time) on Saturday, another earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Bungahan, Philippines. However, there was no news of any damage in it.
