The Chief Electoral Officer of the state has also started preparing for the next year’s assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state. Just as the political parties are focusing on the booths, similarly the CEO office is now working directly at the booth level. He has started talking directly to the booth level officers. For this, he has created a Telegram group, through which he currently contacts 20 thousand BLOs directly in minutes.
The special thing is that the Central Election Commission has also appreciated this effort of Chhattisgarh. The commission has asked other states to follow suit. The interesting thing is that out of 23 thousand BLOs, there are about seven thousand BLOs who have been doing this work for more than ten years. These include teachers, patwaris, Anganwadi workers etc. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, the CEO of Telegram Group, is also connected. That’s why junior officers are also present in the meeting. The problems of the BLO immediately come to the notice of the CEO. Efforts are on to connect the remaining 3,000 BLOs with the group.
Good works of BLO will be discussed at national level
The Election Commission of India released a new digital publication, ‘BLO e-Magazine’ in an interactive session with the Booth Level Officers of the States of the country. More than 350 BLOs directly connected with VCs and 50 BLOs from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi at India Habitat Center with Chief Electoral Officers of States and Union Territories in the program. CEO Reena Babasaheb Kangale, officers and BLOs joined. Kangale said that the Commission is taking care of its Foot Soldier i.e. BLO at the ground level. In this, the stories of BLO’s good deeds, struggle will be shared at the national level.
