Encounter with Naxalites in Balaghat: Cooker bomb, IED diffused, preparations to hand over bodies of Naxalites to relatives, search continues

After killing three Naxalites in an encounter that took place on Monday in Kandla forest of Kharadi area of ​​Lanji, the police and Hawk Force have recovered a huge amount of explosive material like cooker bomb, IED from the site of the incident. It was diffused in Bahela police station area on Tuesday.

However, the amount of explosives found by the police has not been disclosed. The post-mortem of the three Naxalites has been done in the district hospital on Tuesday afternoon. SP Sameer Saurabh said that after the PM, the bodies will be given after taking action for identification and informing the relatives. For this the concerned district has been contacted.

The officer said – 100 to 150 rounds were fired from both sides in the 40-minute encounter.

Balaghat range IG Sanjay Kumar said that after walking for two and a half hours in the dense forest, about 15 to 18 Naxalites present in the camp were attacked. In the encounter that lasted for about 40 minutes, 100 to 150 rounds were fired from both the sides.

The old members of the Dalam were: Three Naxalites of Kanha Bhoramdev Area Committee and Darrekasa Dalam were killed in the encounter. IG told that Naxalites were more active in Rajnandgaon and Gadchiroli. However, some Naxalites managed to escape.

Naxalite literature also recovered

According to the information, a large quantity of different types of items have been found by the team from the spot. Explosives like cooker bomb, IED have also been found in weapons including AK-47, SLR rifle. Books of Naxalite literature have also been found from the spot.
