INS Vela Submarine can carry out many missions like anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, besides intelligence gathering, mine laying and surveillance. Ultramodern technology was also used in this. Top silencing technology, low radiated noise level, hydro-dynamic shape and use of guided weapons make this submarine special for attacking the enemy. Through this, the enemy can be targeted using anti-ship missiles launched from the tube as well as torpedoes at the same time under water or on the surface.
